Barcelona to Host First Match at Partially Completed Camp Nou over the weekend

Barcelona have announced their first game will take place at the partially upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Basque side in La Liga over two years following their departure to allow renovations to start.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Not all seats will be available with 45,401 fans can be present under the licence granted. Once fully finished, the stadium’s capacity will reach over 104,000 attendees, up from the previous 99,000. The club said finished work included a new players’ tunnel along with upgraded changing facilities.

Preparatory Events

The club conducted a fan-accessible workout inside the stadium on 7 November. Officials stated approval is being pursued by UEFA to host the next European match versus the German side in December in the renovated venue. Previous fixtures took place at Estadio OlĂmpic LluĂs Companys.
