Quoting a Classic: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director

"The movie is about affection, allegiance and giving. Values that Rob cherished deeply. This is one of the many reasons he was the best person to helm it," Elwes wrote.

He additionally honored Michele Reiner, noting: "To say that they were a formidable pair would be an understatement. My heart still hurts every time I think of you." He concluded with a phrase from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."

Martin Scorsese Recalls a Fellow Artist

In a different tribute, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.

"Right away, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese wrote.

Scorsese mentioned Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, embodying the father of the lead role.

This week, a Los Angeles superior court judge ruled to prevent the publication of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, after an appeal from the Los Angeles Police Department.

A judicial mandate placed a restriction on the investigation to limit the public release of "related notes, documents, files or images" connected to the ongoing investigation.

The relevant authority had earlier stated their deaths were the consequence of murder, with a official listing listing the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".
